Overview

The PIR sensor is triggered when movement occurs by measuring the infrared light radiated by objects in its field of view.

The central PIR is located in the Sensor Unit  and will view on the floor the area of the circle with the radius equal to the height of the room and the center on the same vertical line as the center of the SU.

Ideally, PIR should not detect movement through doors or windows, as someone walking by outside a room could trigger occupancy within the room and the software will act on this information (e.g turn on the lights when there is no need for it).

Hardware
