When testing the Hausmate hardware the test equipment must be set up as follows -

For the

  • Haze,
  • Encoder,
  • Rocker switches,
  • Sensor unit (SU),
  • External sensor unit (ESU),
  • Punch-down sensor unit (SUP) for temperature sensors,
  • Architrave sensor units (SUARC)
  • Relay unit (RU).

the testing requires the followings:

  • a Zone Gateway (ZG) with software revision 1.1 or later.
  •  a Host PC with the production test software. The host must be running with a 'Production Test' config file.
  • A USB mouse and SVGA monitor for the HostPC.
  • PoE network switch for the HAN (Hausmate Area Network).
  • Connection to the local LAN which in turn has connection to the internet.

  1. Connect the HAN network switch to the Host PC HAN port - any non-PoE port on the network switch is OK.
  2. Connect the monitor and mouse to the HostPC using any rear USB ports.
  3. Connect the HostPC LAN port to the local LAN (Local Area Network - distributes the internet around a building)
  4. Switch on the HostPC and wait for the PC to start windows10.
  5. The ZG must have it's HEX switches set to 'BF'
  6. Connect the ZG ethernet port (connector on the end of the unit) to a PoE port on the HAN network switch (PoE provides power and communication to the ZG).
  7. Switch on the HAN network switch
  8. Log in to the HostPC using the user and password above.
  9. Wait 65 seconds for all the software to start-up. The 5  'terminal' windows can be 'minimised'.
  10. Open Google Chrome
  11. Check the Host PC is 'online' by typing anything into the google search bar and ensure you get a search result from Google.
  12. Click on the 'Hausmate Bench' bookmarks button (takes you to the webpage https://broker.hausmate.com:10590/hausmate/hausmate_bench/bench where the '590' is the installation number for the Host i.e. in this case it is 590 as the production facility test equipment is installation 590).
  13. Enter the Broker username and password as above. Click 'login'.

  14.  The 'Bench' screen should now appear showing the sensors page.

   15. After about 25 seconds from switching on the HAN network switch the red LED on the ZG will start flashing as it starts looking for the Host PC (sends out a message every 5 seconds).
   16. The ZG should then connect to the HostPC - the ZGs red LED should be steady ON and the blue LED will flash every time a message is sent or received - minimum every 5 seconds.
   17. You are now ready to start testing Hausmate hardware.
