1. HOW THE WINDOWS APP WORKS WITH HAUSMATE

Hausmate Windows app not only makes it easier to manage large and hard-to-reach windows, but also it makes them an active component of your house. The systems will open and close the windows at your request, both when you are in the Zone and remotely. Using information from the Rain sensor and the Sensor Unit, Hausmate can close your windows if it starts to rain, if the temperature in the room drops below your defined levels or if the outside temperature rises too much.

By opening windows to allow airflow to cool your home, Hausmate implements passive cooling, the lowest energy climate control system possible.

Hardware required for Windows:

2. HOW TO USE THE APP

The windows can be controlled in several different ways: through the HAZE and the User Interface (UI).

Through the Haze:

  • By default, windows are marked by colour RED but this may have been changed by the user
  • Press and hold until you get the right colour
  • Release the button on the right colour - the LED should start pulsing on that colour
  • Turn from side to side to start to either open or close the window
  • Click to stop the window at the current position or leave them to run to fully open / closed.

Through the UI -  you can control a Zone directly or use the Planner:
  • Log in to the UI - click here if you need help to log in to the UI.
  • On the Home page, choose the Zone you want
  • At the bottom of the page, press on the icon showing Windows - note that this will appear only in the Zones which have automatic windows.
  • This page will show you the current status of the Windows (Open/Closed/Partially Open) ; click on Open/Closed to change it
  • To open or close part way, click on Stop at the desired position

  • You can edit or delete an existing preset by clicking ADJUST.
  • You can create a new preset by clicking  ADJUST on any existing preset. Change the name and make the desired changes then click SAVE AS COPY. The new preset will now show up in the list and is ready to be used.

Through the Planner
  • Different windows settings can be set up according to profiles. Here are more information about how to use the Planner.

To edit the set up of the windows:

  • In the UI, on the Home Page, click on the menu button at the top left hand corner
  • Select Settings
  • At the top of the page, click on the arrow and select Windows

Overview of this page:

  • Open  - the value represents the time, in seconds, which takes for the window to go from fully open to fully closed.
  • Close the value represents the time, in seconds, which takes for the window to go from fully closed to fully open ( the 1s difference should make up for changes due to gravity or any outside effect on the window - for example pulling them by hand).
  • Lock - the value represents the time, in seconds, which takes for the window to get locked.
  • Unlock - the value represents the time, in seconds, which takes for the window to get unlocked.
  • POSITION CALIBRATE - runs the window to fully open/closed to ensure that the position specified on the UI corresponds to the actual position of the window.

The values given by Open and Closed should remain as set during the installation, unless the window or the motor is changed.

In order to set new appropriate values, one should time how long it takes for the window to go from fully closed to fully open and viceversa. Add these values in the Open and Close fields and add one extra second for the Close.
