1. HOW SECURITY WORKS WITH HAUSMATE


Note: Hausmate does not directly control safety critical equipment or equipment which puts people at risk if something goes wrong, this including fire and intruder alarms. However, Hausmate can be integrated into these systems to help users increase their peace of mind, whether at home or away.


Security with Hausmate is divided into two main components: 

  • Fire and Intruder alarms
  • CCTV
When a fire alarm goes off, Hausmate can open the gates to allow firefighters in and turn on the lights to facilitate evacuation; if you are away from home, it can send you a notification by SMS/email. You can also configure your system with a secure mode in which windows are closed and doors are locked when you are away from home.
Hausmate can also link into a CCTV system such that you can see who is at your gate or your door.

  • Intruder alarm
  • Surveillance camera

2. HOW TO USE THE APP

You cand chose which actions Hausmate system should take in case of an alarm going off. The app can be controlled through the User Interface (UI):
  • Log in to the UI - click here if you need help to log in to the UI
  • On the Home page, click on the menu button, at the top left hand corner
  • Select Settings
  • At the top of the page click on the arrow, then select Security Alarms





This page lets you customize the message you will be receiving in case of a fire alarm and change the appearance of the haze. 
You can also test the alarm to ensure it is working properly.
